Hippolyte

A mythical queen of the Amazons.  She had a son with the hero Theseus named Hippolytus, whom Asclepius brought back from the dead.

The ninth labor of Heracles was to retriever her belt.  After speaking with the hero, Hippolyte was willing to simply give him her belt.  Hera would not allow this, however, and urged on the other Amazons to attack Heracles.  Seeing that the others were about to attack, Heracles killed Hippolyte and claimed her belt.
