Aeson

A grandson of Aeolus and the rightful heir to his throne after the death of his father Cretheus.  He was prevented from his inheritance by his half-brother Pelias, however.

Aeson continued to live in the kingdom, but he lacked any power to oppose Pelias.  Soon after, Aeson's wife had a child, named Jason.  Fearing for the child's life, Aeson sent him to live with Cheiron, king of the Centaurs.  Aeson was then later killed by Pelias, who feared any rival to the throne.

Later, Jason would return and, after completing the quest for the Golden Fleece, kill Pelias with the help of MedeaMedea, through her magic, was also able to restore Aeson to life.
