Asterius

1. A king of Crete.  He married Europa, who had three sons with Zeus: Minos, Rhadamanthys (Apollodorus writes that it was Miletus instead) and Sarpedon.  The three sons fell into a quarrel over a boy.  Minos drove the other two from Crete.  Since he had no sons of his own, Minos claimed the throne after his death.
