Laertes

Laertes was a king of Ithaca and the father of Odysseus.  He was one of the Argonauts.  His wife was Anticleia.  As he grew old, he abdicated the throne in favor of his son.  While Odysseus was away for twenty years, he was too feeble to prevent the suitors from invading his home and seeking the hand of his daughter-in-law Penelope.
