IlusIlus was the son of Tros and the sixth king of Troy. He left Dardania, the city founded by Dardanus, for Phrygia (another area in Asia Minor), where he won a wrestling match. As his prize, he was given fifty young men and fifty young women, as well as a cow. An oracle instructed that Ilus should found a city on the site where this cow should lay down. Ilus obeyed and founded the city of Ilium, more commonly called Troy after his father Tros. Ilus was succeeded by his son Laomedon. Source(s):
